American Management Association and the Institute of Management Consultants Present ConsultingWorld, the Premier Event for Consultants to Management

May 9, 2007

American Management Association (AMA) and the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC USA) are co-sponsoring the first annual ConsultingWorld™: The Grande Conference of the Americas in Lake Buena Vista, FL, June 24–26. This premier event for consultants to management will provide insights into the latest tools, strategies and best practices in consulting.

“Managers need to be able to find competent and ethical consultants and use their talents and experience effectively. As the complexity of challenges facing our society grows, so does the need to coordinate expertise from many consulting professionals,” says IMC USA National Board Chair Mark R. Haas, CMC. “ConsultingWorld provides a place to discuss what executives need most from consultants and how consultants can best meet their needs.”

The three-day conference will feature leading industry experts who will share their experiences from the field, in-depth presentations and workshops on starting and growing a consulting practice and improving client-consultant relationships, as well as networking opportunities.

“As more Baby Boomers near retirement age and look for alternative arrangements to traditional employment, the number of those entering the consulting field will continue to rise,” said Edward T. Reilly, AMA President and CEO. “This conference will provide the necessary tools for those already in the consulting field to expand their practices and provide the guidance to those looking to enter the field.”

The IMC/AMA Conference will feature more than a dozen keynote presentations, general sessions and panel discussions. The keynote speakers will include:

Stephen M.R. Covey, former CEO of Covey Leadership Center. Under his direction, the Covey Leadership Center grew rapidly and profitably, achieving Inc. 500 status and recognition. Covey personally led the strategy that propelled his father’s book, Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, to the number one best-selling business book of the 20th century according to CEO Magazine.

Oren Harari, Ph.D., professor at the Graduate School of Business in the University of San Francisco. He is involved in cutting-edge research on the most successful organizations and leaders today. Harari’s most recent book is Break from the Pack: How to Compete in a Copycat Economy, which explores how to achieve competitive advantage in a global marketplace.

ConsultingWorld will also feature in-depth workshops and breakout sessions that will focus on real-world consulting, management and other business topics, including:
