June 14, 2007

American Management Association (AMA), a world leader in professional development and performance based learning solutions, elected three new members to its Board of Trustees during the 84th Annual Meeting. Pamela Grunder Sheiffer, President of P. Joyce Associates, Inc., James H. Wall, Global Managing Director of Human Resources, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and Diane C. Yu, Chief of Staff and Deputy to the President, New York University (NYU), were elected to serve three-year terms.

“We are pleased to welcome three outstanding trustees whose breadth and diversity of experience will help guide AMA in its achievement of excellence in the field of management education,” said Teresa E. McCaslin, Chair of AMA’s Board of Trustees and Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Information Systems, ContiGroup Companies, Inc.

Sheiffer has held a variety of senior management positions in retail and manufacturing, including Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager at May Department Stores, Cleveland, Ohio. As Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing for the Retail Apparel Group from 1988 to 1995, Sheiffer brought the Ohio company’s Dots Stores unit from start-up to $224 million in sales, opening 250 stores across the eastern United States. Following her tenure at Retail Apparel Group, she was a principal shareholder and President of The Design and Source Company Ltd. Inc., New York, a manufacturer and importer of ladies apparel.

Sheiffer currently operates P. Joyce Associates Inc., which provides consulting to the retail, manufacturing, licensing, and investment communities. She also serves on the Board of Directors of New York and Company and Rock of Ages, and she is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Learning Leaders, a volunteer program dedicated to helping NYC public school children.

Wall’s primary responsibilities at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu include providing leadership to member firms in the areas of strategic talent management, recruitment, development, multiculturalism, and inclusion. He also leads the global organization’s efforts in the areas of corporate social responsibility and global security. He is a member of the Global Management Committee and the Board of Directors of Deloitte Central Europe. Prior to his current role, Wall was National Managing Director of Human Resources for Deloitte & Touche USA LLP.

Wall is also a member of the Advisory Council of the International Institute of Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum in the United Kingdom.

At NYU, Yu manages the Office of the President and is the President’s representative to trustees, faculty, students, and other audiences. She also leads selected policy initiatives, works closely with the deans, and participates in presidential-level recruitment and retention efforts.

Yu was previously Associate General Counsel and Managing Counsel at Monsanto Company. Prior to that position, she was General Counsel for the State Bar of California, a California Superior Court Commissioner, appointed by the President of the United States as a White House Fellow, and in private practice in Oakland, CA.

Yu is the immediate past chair of the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession. She also sits on the boards of the White House Fellows Foundation and Association, the American Bar Foundation, and Oberlin College. She was elected to the American Law Institute in 2000.

“I look forward to working with these outstanding leaders who are committed to the development of people. AMA will benefit from their experience and enthusiasm as we continue to develop managers in all professions around the world,” said Edward T. Reilly, AMA President and CEO.

Also during AMA’s Annual Meeting, the following members were reelected to the Board of Trustees for a one-year term: Peter W. Bruce, Chief Insurance Officer, Northwestern Mutual; and Don E. Marsh, former Chairman, President and CEO, Marsh Supermarkets, Inc.

Richard C. Kimball, Senior Director, The Bigelow Company; and Barry L. Williams, President, Williams Pacific Ventures, Inc. were also reelected to three-year terms.
